A bride holding a bouquet of flowers outdoors

MEET THE FLORIST

MY NAME IS BAILEY-ANN & I AM THE FOUNDER OF THE ANTHER GALLERY.

My floral story starts on the day before my wedding, running around our wedding venue, putting all of the finishing touches into place. The time came to DIY all of my florals using bulk flowers I had ordered and I realized I had lofty inspiration pictures & no know-how on how to make it. Thankfully, all of my girlies helped & my aunt came in and saved the day, making a beautiful bouquet that I loved. The next day was one of the best of our lives and my husband & I are living happily ever after.

Flashback to the spring before our wedding day, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Biology & Psychology. Although I had an intense interest in the plant-side of biology, I had been laying the groundwork to go to medical school—working as a CNA, volunteering at a hospital, studying for the MCAT, and so on and so forth. My final semester, with the support of my soon-to-be husband, I came to terms with the fact that the medical field did not align with the life I wanted and was not what I wanted to continue to pursue. Even though I had no idea what I was doing with my career, I had a wedding to plan, specifically one on a college-aged budget. The planning of my own wedding helped me realize my love for organizing events & throwing beautiful parties, especially ones where you need to get creative to make your vision come to life. I then worked a series of jobs trying to find my niche- working in coffee shops, florist shops, event planning, interior design… I am so grateful for each of these experiences because each one got me one step closer to realizing my dream.

Looking back, there was so many signs that this was what I was meant to do, that I ignored for the sake of achievement. This is your sign to go after what you love and not to doubt yourself. Unlike other creatives, I have spent most of my life convinced I am a perfectionist, Type A, Capricorn, first-born daughter, scientist-type. Which I totally am. But, I also have an innate understanding of what looks good & an intense desire to make everything around me look good & feel a certain way. I'm drawn to florals not just for their beauty, but for the emotion they evoke. I approach floral design as both an art and a feeling, curating textural, garden-inspired arrangements that reflect the depth and nuance of each couple I work with. With a focus on thoughtful composition and emotional resonance, I would love to work with you on creating the most beautiful flowers you have ever seen.

Other than being obsessed with flowers & all things beautiful, you can find me thrifting, decorating & redecorating my house, gardening, petting my cats, reading, going to coffee shops, & trying to make good food.
